hunting!
Well hunting season is just around the corner so I sighted in the .308 tonight.

Well after one shot I concluded that the rifle held its zero and it’s good to go!
I plan on hunting white tail and mule deer this year.

If I see a decent elk I’ll take one of those too!

This year I have an outside chance at a Buffalo hunt. It’s on a draw (Lottery) my odds are one in 65. This hunt is very far north and is in February
in 3 to 4 feet of snow and minus 30 to 40 degree weather. If I do get drawn I can partner, Marcus….how to you feel about helping me haul a ton of
frozen meat out of the bush?

Well at least their will be no insects in February! Now I wonder where I can get a skidoo?

good times , wish there wasnt such a tough commute
I visit a couple dozen dojo a year and believe me when I tell you I cringe at what I see.
Now... Just how should I go about telling them to change?

How is buffalo meat compared to beef?

Glad to hear that Rick because when I finally get my Bison you just might have a few roasts arrive at your door!
Bison accounts for well over 60% of my red meat consumption these days. It's low in fat and tastes great. If I eat ground beef it's cut with bison,
lamb, elk ,moose etc.
Still cook the odd Alberta Beef tenderloin or prime rib but not as offten as I use to. BTW bison/ beef/ venison hamburgers rock!
1/3rd of each the venison component can be any wild meat or lamb. When I process my wild meat I disguard all fat and conective tissue before grinding.
Makes it super lean and gives it less of the super gamey flavour some folks hate.
Buffalo fat is light in teture and mild in flavour. There isn't much fat on one of these critters so keep all you find and save it to grind with the
trim. Bison is a very heart friendly red meat!

week so he's good to go!

Yep! Hunting you simply thank god for the kill/meat/sacrifice of animals life and you simply shoot.
And thank god, here isn't some long complicated procedure like slaughtering domestic animals. That would make things tough.
